Across the generations, humans have suffered from plenty of severe pandemics, and the most relevant in today's day and age is COVID-19, which is a part of the CORONAvirus family.

Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) , which is a highly contagious viral infectious disease caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), was acknowledged by the WHO (World Health Organisation) as a pandemic in March 2020, it has had a catastrophic effect on the world’s demographics all around the world, and it’s clearly the most consequential global health crisis in the recent years.


The virus has originated from Wuhan, China, from which it spread to all the corners of the globe like a fierce wildfire,resulting in a total number of cases of 19 million around the world, with 700,000 deaths in 213 different countries and territories.


And somehow, We all have been affected by COVID-19 pandemic, and it has severe effects on many aspects of life such as; health and environments. However, the impact of the pandemic and its effects are felt differently depending on our status as individuals and as parts of society.


By all means, covid-19 was like a sudden disaster for the whole world. Its rapid spread has revealed a failure of global domestic preparedness and implementation, a lack of coordination across nations.

And the outbreak of COVID-19 has proven to be a world wide unprecedented catastrophe;


  • As the virus resulted in a devastating death toll and economic harm, as there is a widespread loss to humans, materials.

  • It inflicted billion of lives across the globe in many ways eg. physically, psychologically, socially, and had a serious disruption of social and community function.

For sure this pandemic has demonstrated the difficulty of responding effectively to an emerging outbreak, which is a serious issue in our world. No one can deny that covid-19 is by far the most terrible thing that has happened to the globe in the past few years, it’s a word that no one would like to hear as it’s associated with the feeling of fear, panic and anxiety.


And as it could yet evolve in unanticipated ways, we should all take into consideration that the right preparation and early execution are essential in detecting, containing, and rapidly responding to and mitigating the spread of potentially hazardous infectious diseases.
